Situation:
Students are creating personal websites on their local machines. They are users with limited rights to the server and can only save to a mapped network drive. When they try to preview their site in IE7, it goes nowhere. When they try to create a new page, it tells them they do not have permission to the administrator’s documents and settings location on the local machine. The program was installed by the admin and it seems that it will only look to that location on the local machine, which is off limits to that user. Is there a folder which I need to give permission to all users so that FrontPage will behave properly? Is there a way to give it a different default file location? Do I need to have IIS and the extensions installed on the network server if these are not going to be published to the web, but rather viewed only on the local machine?
