I installed a new server with W2K3 Enterprise and installed the application server. I manually copied our web site folder from the W2K server on to the new server and pointed IIS at it. I comes up just fine. No problems with connecting to it and viewing it.
The web design class used Frontpage 2002 to edit pages and create new ones. When the teacher goes to publish the site it gets stuck at a new page with the error to the effect of:
“Server Error: The web server extensions could not access the file <...etc. .htm>. Check the permissions.”
The permissions to the folders and file have been triple checked as fine. It appears as though IIS was not setup for Frontpage extensions. I believe that I need to install those extensions, but they are not an option in Windows Components. I see other extensions there, like WebDAV and ASP, but not Frontpage. Are they on the W2K3 R2 CD and if so, which one of the discs and where on it? Or is there a download that eludes me? Or am I even on the right track to this problem?
