Hi; I have a PII 300mgz, 256mg RAM ftp server(W2K). When clients log on and download files, the connection drops and gives then this error message "125 Data connection already open; Transfer starting.426 Connection closed; transfer aborted" I doubled the connection time out from 900sec to 1800sec. What do I need to do to solve this problem. Do you think the problem will be taken care of if I use better and faster machine? Is there any hardware requirment for FTP server?

Check to see if any of these clients also have FTP running on their machines (listening on port 21). If so, check this Microsoft Resolution: How to Perform a Server-to-Server FTP Transfer Using IIS (Q247132) at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q247132 (no spaces)
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
