FTP Setup

By ccthompson ·
Hello all,

I am having trouble with my FTP site. For some reason, people are having trouble getting there. But if they disable "Passive FTP" in their internet options. They can get there. Thats problem 1.

Problem 2 is once they are there, when they try to open my pictures or files straight from the site without saving them, they get the error "Page cannot be displayed".

The tricky part is that the site is anonymous access with the IUSR_OEM user. They only have read permission under IIS and on the folder as well.

This does not happen to everyone that goes here although! Some people get there fine and open the pictures fine!????!!!

So my two questions are:

How do I allow Passive FTP to enter my site?
How do I give the proper permissions to the pics so they dont get page cannot be displayed?

Thanks for the Help!

Is this 2000 or 2003 and what FTP clients are they using? IE is a whack FTP client and plays up.

My server is 2000 Server and most of the clients that I have encountered are Windows XP, there were a couple ME/98 users as well.

Picture Format?

What is the picture format? Some clients may not be able to open that format.

Just regular ole .jpg files. This is one of the most confusing issues I have dealt with in a long time.
