FTP-Why can’t I use an NTFS directory?

by trail99 . Updated 25 years, 8 months ago

My problem is getting my FTP server to use directories (home or virtual) on an NTFS partition.

It is set up to allow annonymous logons. I have no problems using a FAT partition for my FTP directories, but if I specify an NTFS partition in Internet Service Manager, I get an error message (next to “alias” under the directories tab) reading “ACCESS IS DENIED”(with a red stop sign)…

I also get this message in Event Viewer —-> “The server was unable to add the virtual root ‘/’ for the directory ‘f:\InetPub\ftproot’ due to the following error: Access is denied. The data is the error code.”

I have spent 2 days trying every imaginable solution-Even if I give “everyone/full control” permission, no luck!

Any answers???
