ftp write access on proxy sever nt 4

If you have the correct ports open, then there should be no difficulty. The access control menus in MS Proxy only control outgoing access, which is why there is only a setting for FTP read; the packet filters are there to allow you to control incoming packets (i.e., incoming ftp access). In fact, you don't want to have port 20 open on your proxy server unless you want to allow remote users to WRITE to your LOCAL ftp server, not vice versa. What I'm thinking is that the access is being denied by the FTP server you're trying to write to (the remote site), not your local proxy server. Are you sure that the ftp sites that you are trying to write to allow public write access? Most don't. Hope this helps!
