    Fujitsu M2483H * Need Drivers*

    Locked

    by gerry a ·

    Here’s my dilemma…

I rented a Fujitsu M2483H tape drive in order to copy some data off of tapes provided from Siemens.
Does anyone have experience with this drive? My plan was to hook it up to an NT box, but I can’t find drivers for this drive anywhere on the web. Additionally, does anyone have suggestions on software that would allow me to copy a text or print-image file from the tapes to a hard drive?

    Any assistance appreciated.

    Happy holidays.

    Gerry

I don’t believe it requires drivers. Just load the drivers for your SCSI cards and attach the device and see if it is detected. Many times the drivers for tape devices are included. That has been my experience, though my experience is limited to Adaptec SCSI Controllers, and an ADIC Scalar that contained Quantum Tape Drives.

If that doesn’t work, I would suggest calling Fujistu or the company you rented it from.
