FYI: Update to New Cisco Retake Policy

By brian ·
I'm an account manager for a Microsoft & Cisco training facility in NY, and recently received this update regarding Cisco's retake Policy.

_______

A slight clarification has been made to the Cisco retake policy announced in the May Pearson VUE Channel Newsletter. Candidates who fail an exam must wait a period of five (5) calendar days, beginning the day AFTER the failed attempt, before they can retake the exam. For example, if a candidate tests on Tuesday, he or she may test again no sooner than the following Monday.

Below is the corrected announcement in its entirety:

Cisco has made some changes to its retake policy, effective May 12, 2005. The policies are as follows:

- Candidates who sit for a beta exam may take the exam only once [no retakes].

- Candidates who fail an exam must wait a period of five [5] calendar days, beginning the day after the failed attempt, before retaking the exam. For example, if a candidate tests on Tuesday, he or she may test again no sooner than the following Monday.

- Once passed, exams may not be retaken, with the exception of CCIE written exams. Candidates who pass a CCIE written exam must wait a minimum of six (6) months to retake it. This policy applies to CCIE certification exams with identical exam numbers.

Candidates who violate these policies are in violation of the Cisco Certification agreement. Such conduct is strictly prohibited, as described in the Cisco Candidate Conduct Policy http://www.cisco.com/application/pdf/en/us/guest/learning/learning/c644/ccmigration_09186a00803641d2.pdf

For additional information regarding Cisco exam policies, refer to the Certification Exam Policies Web site http://www.cisco.com/en/US/learning/le3/le11/learning_certification_exam_policies.html
