Is there any known reason that the GAL would not update for new users/mailboxes when Cached Exchange Server is enableds in Outlook 2003.
For Example: A user is added to the domain and given a mailbox. If I go into the GAL, that user is not shown. However, if I disable cached Exchange Mode, the user shows up in the GAL. I can then re-enable CEM, and the user is once more not shown. (hope this makes sense).

Hi, You can try this:- 1. open the outlook 2. on the mail screen of outlook, click on a small drop down arrow next to "send/receive" tab. 3.Then click on " Download Address Book" option 4. Close and reopen the outlook.
The Offline Address List is built by the server by default only once per day. For cached Exchange mode users, the GAL is actually their .oab file, which Outlook pulls shortly after starting up. Outlook looks for this file once per day. You can force it to see changes by clicking on the arrow to the right of Send/Receive and then clicking on Download Address Book. The first box, Download changes since last Send/Receive should be checked; download Full Details.
Open Exchange System Manager and then point the RECIPIENTS from left pane after that open the OFFLINE ADDRESS LISTS on the right then right click DEFAULT OFFLINE ADDRESS LIST and choose REBUILD it works for me
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
