Pentium IV Gateway Laptop problems started by distorted image on monitor after 10 minutes from startup then it won’t start except when I press hardly on the plastic part below the power button. I opened it and found that it works when I press on a chip covered with copper sheet and another aluminium sheet above just beside the processor. After pressing on this location it works good for a long time but any slight movement of the laptop it freezes and the image shows longitudinal thick lines and I have to use power down button to shut it down. I though that the problem might be overheating so I tailored a piece of aluminium foil that I placed above the aluminim covering the chip and goes to above the processor fan to transfer the heat there and I upgraded the BIOS and restarted it it worked fine but after half an hour the smae problem so I removed the piece of foil and after I closed it I tried to start it and it is totally dead only the fan is working so what are your suggestions.
