Gateway Laptop

By computercare ·
I dropped my Gateway Solo laptop and now I can't get it to do anything. It is getting power to it but there is no POST or anything on the screen. I can hear the hard drive trying to work but there is nothing. I know this is major but any help would be great. Also what is the easiest way to remove the cover without doing any damage to the cover. Thank You

Bring it back to the Gateway as soon as possible. Do not try to uncover the computer by yourself even though the warranty was expired. If you do so but cannot repair it successfully, you will lose more money than bring it back right now.

You most likely either knocked a wire lose, or cracked something inside, I agree on bringing it back to Gateway. It might not even be your laptop, I had a friend that had the same thing happen to her and w/in 2 days she got it back repaired.

Hi one thing you can try without opening the laptop is to try an external monitor because it may be the screen or backlight that is damaged if it is the screen then you might consider the repair cost to high. You may have to press function an another key to switch to external monitor.

Hope this helps
