Generic Power Supply

by mgbrown . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

I’m using a Toshiba Satellite M70 -CL10 for most of my school and publishing work. The power supply recently kicked the bucket (thankfully after exams) as it had been wearing out over the course of the semester (an awkwardly loose connection).

I brought the power supply in to the only computer sales and repair place in town, and he gave me the option of getting the Toshiba power supply ($130 Canadian) or a generic power supply for about $40 cheaper.

All the specifications for the generic power supply are the same, except that the ampage is higher. So I’m wondering if that’s going to cause any problems that it won’t be worth saving $40 for.

Anyone have any experience/advice to lend?

Thanks
