"Genuine non accredited degrees"!!!

By DMambo ·
I just received a spam e-mail with this message. This should add some merit to the idea that a degree is sometimes not worth the paper it's printed on. (The word "degrees" was spelled "degress" in the subject line - hahaha):

A Genuine College Degree in 2 weeks ! 1-206-350-5982 < - ccall n0ww !

Have you ever thought that the only thing stopping you from a great job and better pay was a few letters behind your name?

Well now you can get them!

BA BSc MA MSc MBA PhD

Within 2 weeks! No Study Required! 100% Verifiable!

These are real, genuine non accredited degrees that include Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees.

They are verifiable and student records and transcripts are also available.

This little known secret has been kept quiet for years. The opportunity exists due to a legal loophole allowing some established colleges to award degrees at their discretion.

With all of the attention that this news has been generating, I wouldn't be surprised to see this loophole closed very soon. Order yours today. Just call the number below. You'll thank me later.

Where's the phone number???

by CharlieSpencer In reply to "Genuine non accredited d ...

Lead us on, get us all excited, and then you don't include the phone number? Now how am I supposed to get my degree? I'll wind up working for a CRT recycler, inhaling toxic fumes, all because you couldn't paste one lousy additional line of text!

Sounds interesting

I wonder if the schools on the papers actually exist and if they are involved or if this is just someone with a computer and a printer. I'd like to get a degree from Easter Island Polytechnic Institute. They don't have any phones there so it would be difficult to verify or discredit. :-)

(I don't know if there are any phones on Easter Island).

These are always as valuable as the authority issuing them.

In the interview, you would say: "Yes, I have an MBA" The resume says from E-University-Degrees-forSale.com or something. I'd be embarrassed to present myself this way.

Gah, degree mills cause all kinds of problems

by jmgarvin In reply to "Genuine non accredited d ...

Sure, somebody can SAY they have a PhD, but do they really? While I tend to think those that are snobs about name brand schools vs state schools do nothing to help the academic environment, I do think that these REALLY muddy the waters.

Gov't employees

Did you see the stink a few months back? Some high ranking US agency official had her degree from one of these places. This place actually had a 'physical presence' in terms of a building. I don't think any students ever visited it. Their 'studies' were made-up sounding stuff. And I'm sure, given enuf money, 'life experience' counted for most of the work.

Gah!

Man, something needs to be done about this. I'm not busting my hump to get a PhD, just so someone can go buy one!

I just don't get it!

I saw a news report about this type of thing a while back...

by geekchic In reply to "Genuine non accredited d ...

it showed several of the "schools" one in particular was a former motel complex. You know the old kind of motels...motor court kind of things. When the reporter approached there was no signs saying it was a "college", no students in sight, all doors locked and a few people inside one of the buildings sitting at computers. When he tried to get into the building to talk to someone they wouldn't allow him in. Surprise!!!

Guess they were too busy grading papers to be interrupted.

Ummm...geekchic,PhD...sounds good to me...where is that phone number!! Dr. Geekchic...paging Dr. Geekchic....

If you want a short cut...

by DekeTheGeek In reply to "Genuine non accredited d ...

There is a school that is accredited and offers degrees based on experience. There is some course work involved. I believe it is called Western Governors University. They give you advanced credit for certifications and experience. Unlike these degree mills, they are fully accredited. And they're pretty cheap.

Check 'em out:

Just thought someone may want to know...

some of the bogus schools have banded together to make up their own 'accreditation' group.
