I have a client who’s a small advertising company. They have one server running Win2K3 Server, 2 pc desktops and 3 mac OSX machines. The previous consultant that set them up did not set up the DNS and AD correctly. When I would try to have the 2 pc’s join the domain to enable NTFS file sharing permissions, I got a crazy error about the DNS Server does not support Dynamic DNS, so I figured I’d reconfigure the DNS and AD on the server and start fresh. I demoted the server, making it a stand alone. When I tried to re-install AD and following MS instructions, I keep get the Error Operation Failed: Overlapped I/O in progress. What is this error? I have never seen it. Now I can’t get the server to become a DC to get everything started back up again. Has anyone ever seen this error before? I did a search on MS and Google, with nothing coming back for AD. Would appreciate the help!
