If it's just the Windows password screen, what you can do is this:

- Go to Settings -> Control Panel -> Users. Verify that all users are set to use the same profile (if you get the user profile wizard, just cancel out. It means that user profilesare turned off, just like you want it). If user profiles are turned on (all users have their own settings, desktop, etc) make sure you turn it off.
- In C:\WINDOWS, delete all files that end in .PWL (you may have to turn file extension viewing on in the Folder Options).
- Restart the computer.
- When the Windows logon appears, just hit enter, then enter again to verify. It then shouldn't prompt you for a password after that.

Hope this helps!

You could also try the following: in the logon box there should be a bunch of x's in the top space. Hilite them, press backspace to clear the window, then click OK. The next time you boot the computer there should be no logon box.

An additional note to the first answer. After deleting all .PWL files in the c:\windows directory and restarting, you will get the log-in box. Make sure to clear any passwords that may be in the box and hit enter. You'll be prompted again to enter the passwords and again be sure both password fields are cleared before hitting enter. Then the next time you start your computer you won't see the log-in screen.

Delete *.pwl files and when Windows prompts for a new password, make the Windows password null (blank).
