I bought a port replicator to used with my note book (inspiron 8500) of of ebay. Before i made my purchase i checked model numbers on the dell website against the ebay auction. They matched up, so i was under the impression that i was getting the right part. lastnight when i went to go hook every thing up the dock was not working except for the vga port. Upon futher investigation i found that that particular docking staion is not compatible with inspiron models, only latitudes and d models. so Dell is selling them for 199 and misleading the public. So i found out that i have to make my insprion think that it is a latitude in order toget it to work with the docking sation…….does any body know how to do this?
