Getting hired into IT as a non-IT

    by cat ·

I have 15 years mgmt/mktg/sales experience and an MBA from 2001.
I’ve been active with my own executive coaching practice and a small
homemade craft company since I’ve been home with twins for the past 6
years. I live in Fargo, ND (Moorhead really) and want to break into
Microsoft. How do I do this as a non-techie?

    Thank you for any suggestions.

What do you mean “break into Microsoft”? If you are referring to learing about their products, then you’ve come to a good place to start. Google is another great place to learn about MS and all of their products.

I’m not sure what you mean by Break Into M$ either

As they are in Redmond going there would be a good first step. If you want to gain Illicit Entry into M$ Main Building then maybe a Course under a Cat Bugler may be helpful of you could have an Affair with Steve Blamer.

If you mean work for M$ themselves they are a big company who have their own hiring & firing practices and only employ a very small 5 of Technical people and lots of Accountants, Assorted Managers and so on. I’m sure that they advertise jobs which you may qualify for.

If you mean working in IT in any form again there are many positions that are available in the IT Industry from the Shop Floor up and these many different companies will hire & fire staff as they deem necessary.

If you care to post back with what you want to do someone here may be able to help.

If you where to fill in your Member Profile it may even be possible to have a guess what you are asking for here but as things stand that’s not possible.
