Ghost 8.0 cannot see client PC in machine group

Hi
I have installed ghost server 8.0 on winxp sp3 and client on another pc but when i go to run ghost server and go into file>new>create image then select browse and try to select machine group>default there is no client pcs listed.
Now I am getting starting ghost console and getting Unable to connect to the database. Retry?

Please if there is a step by step article on how to ghost winxp using symantec ghost 8.0
