Ghost image

by shanghai sam . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

Here is the following situation. The server is running Win NT 4.0 Server. There are some rooms with around 20 computers spread through rooms which are not connected to the local area network. All computers hardware configuration is very mixed. So, some computer get 486 processor and some PIII 933MHz. There are ~5 computer generations, what means around 4 computers of each generation that have the same hardware configuration. It means maybe I could create an image for PCs using ghost that have the same hardware configuration and OS. Maybe it is a lot of work but it would be useful for PCs maintaining in the future (easy rebuilding).
Can I create an image using Ghost from the server, or do I have to do it directly on a workstation? But these workstation do not have CD writer, and server does.
And how to do it, what are switches and other staff if sth needed?
If somebody can help me it would be appreciated.

thank you in advance
