‘ghost’ printers

I delete printers on the 2003 server and then add new ones (network printers with ip addresses) and when I log onto a workstation I get ‘greyed out’ images of the deleted printers (with message cannot be found) and none of the new ones appear.
I can ping the new ip addresses. I have a script for the printers and it only has the new ones on it all others have been deleted.
