I have a windows domain with win2k pro and win xp workstations and win 2000 and 2003 servers (9 D.C.’s at separate sites). Several months ago, I removed a group policy setting that enabled the proxy settings in Internet Explorer for all computers in the domain. However, I still have a couple of servers (2-2000 and 1-2003) that still have the proxy setting (which in turn affects every workstation at that site). I have checked through every GPO object using the Group Policy Management mmc, and have even cleared any proxy settings out of the registry on these affected servers, but after about 2 days, the proxy setting is back! I cannot figure out where it is coming from. Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on?
