I’m a relatively recent addition to our office here. The netadmin prior to my employment slackjawed our server. He’s set it up to mimic a Raid-0 server. Problem is, we don’t have a RAID controller or card. The HDDs are on IDE cables, straight into a home PC motherboard. Both set as master.
We’re out of space as a result of this waste of memory–rather than 2 40-gig drives, we’re down to 1 partitioned 40g.
I’ve attempted to ghost it with ghost v.12, but had no luck. Everything I’ve read suggests Acronis would be most beneficial for this kind of operation.
The information has to be off that drive within a week, or I’m going to start losing data. It’s all been backed up to 2 USB60s, but I’m afraid (after seeing the ghost backup issues) that perhaps the backups are A. not complete, or B. not functional.
Are there any ideas about how to ghost the drive–I don’t care if the partition stays or goes.

The volumes are 1 4gig for OS, and 1 36gig for files. The 4gig has filled past operating capacity, and is beginning to dink with the terminal services, causing problems for DNS, DHCP, and NetLogon. I can jerry-rig these for the time being, but am trying for a more permanent solution.
