Ghostscript 8.14 on Solaris 8

Hi,

Installed Ghostscript 8.14 and other required softwares on Sun SPARC / Solaris 8. I got utility ps2gif come along with that.
when i will try 2 convert 1 test.ps file to test.gif, i am getting error:

pnmcrop: bad magic number – not a ppm, pgm, or pbm file
pnmscale: EOF / read error reading magic number
pnmcat: EOF / read error reading magic number
pnmcat: EOF / read error reading magic number
ppmtogif: EOF / read error reading magic number

Pls help me
