.GIF or .JPEG animations from video?

By pita_ruben ·
Hi guys,

Could you please recommend me a program that allow me to create .gif of .jpeg animations from a movie?

I need the output files to be light because the animations will be used to customize my avatar and signature in a web forum.

Thank you so much.

Gimp not the answer

Sorry Gimp is an amazing photo editor, however I could not even load a movie with it, so its appears that is has support only for still photos.

OK then I'll pass on the question

To the Powers that Be at TR and see if they list it in the Weekly Questions Column.

I have no other ideas what could be used under a Windows Environment to do what you are attempting to do here and I do know that the Big Movie Houses don't use Windows they use a Linux Base to create the Animations and do not load the entire movie. They do what is required and then add it to the movie. They also have some very powerful computers things like 2,000 CPU Blade Servers for 30 Second Renderings.

It's always possible that others here will see this and put in their advice as well.
