What is the going rate cost to run a gigabit drop and voice drop? Each drop will be about a 500ft -200ft home run to the patch panel.

Thanks,

In this area (WA State), last I checked the labor is $65 an hour, then add your hardware costs on top of that. Your area might require Plenum cable which comes at a greater cost to PVC. Prices are subject to change but last time I checked I think PVC was 9cents a foot and Plenum was 23 cents? Certainly your particular installation project will present it own obstacles and whatnot that the cable installers will have to work with, you might have an idea of what those might be. On top of cableyou'll have any associated hardware costs.. etc...

Does that help?

It really depends on what you will use. If it's 200-250 ft. - use Cupper Gigabit Ethernet (actually it's Cat5e, maybe Cat6). In this case you may use regular contractors to make Ethernet wiring, but you should "Certify" links according to Cat5e/Cat6specification. To this you should add Gigabit Ethernet NICs (if you will install it to PCs) or switches with Gigabit Uplink Ports.

In case you have greater distance, you should go with Multimode Fiber. If you have Cisco, you should buy GBIC modules and card. Fiber termination for MM Fiber is not to big problem. You may buy small toolkit and doit yourself.

So, if you will provide more details, the answer will be more detailed.
