GINA autologin

How can I get a Win2000 workstation using Client for Win2K 4.8 to skip past the Windows password and work only on the NDS login and Password.

I read several years ago that you could load profiles from a network on a workstation but that was for WinNT. Is there a way to create dynamicly a profile or mandate a user for 200 only without user knoledge?

Unfortunately not. The operating system will not allow you to skip the windows password and logon to a network successfully unless it is a dial-up connection.

Does you local NT login have a syncronize check box upon successful login? That is what our users check to have only the NDS login.

Yes, there is a Sync check box, but I
want them to login once only and be able
to work on any w/s in the office.
I got Win2000 to autologin but it won't
even ask for an NDS login.

I'd take a look at this Novell TI
http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10057660.htm

I haven't had a chance to try it yet... but I'm also having the same problem. Below is another Novell TID that I used for a temporary fix... under "Auto login to NT and manual Login to NDS". This is probably halfway down the page. http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10052847.htm

Let me know if you get the first configuration to work!

Goodluck,

You can setup Windows 2000 to use a auto-login. You can download the tweakui utility or for a better solution, look at Novell TID 10024791. It shows how to automate Windows and Novell logins.

Create an Wnt account (user +password) just exact as the netware account. Go to the Windows NT tab, and sync Netware password with the Windows Password.
If the user and password you put for netawre login is suitable for logging you to wnt, nt will log you to the domain or local PC!!

Good luck
