Giving advice to someone considering going back into management

By jck ·
If you knew someone who had been in a supervisory or management role previously, but it was years ago, what advice would you give them to look for and/or ask about the role they are looking into possibly moving into in the future?

Just wondering, considering my situation.

Any thoughts are appreciate.

Remember the mistakes you've seen

by NickNielsen In reply to Giving advice to someone ...

(as well as those you made your first time out) and do your best to not repeat them.

One of the main reasons I decided not to go into management when I retired from the USAF was that at the end of my career, I found myself making essentially the same mistakes I had been making 10-12 years earlier when I first got promoted into the senior NCO ranks. I was just taking a different path to get there each time.

Aside: Isn't it getting a little crowded down there in Palau?
