Gnome Panel problem

By dwilcox22 ·
I made a foopah when I was rebooting my system after updating my ipchains. During the reboot I got am error message that a program was not quitting and I answered ok when I shouldn't have. I killed the panel on my gnome desktop.
The only way that Iwas able to get it back that I could see was add it to the sessions startup programs. I am sure that this isn't the right places as I have not seen it there before, but it does work.
Does anyone know the proper was to get this work the way it is supposed to.

Thanks

Your session is managed by gnome-session. If you start the panel (panel &amp during a session, logout, and save the session (using the dialog box shown at logout time), it will reappear the next time.

If you have managed to disable the logout dialog box, you'll need the GNOME control center (gnomecc &amp to get it back.
