GOBack Survey

By spouye ·
Hi there,

I installed GOBack on a personal customer's computer runing Windows 2000 Professional. He went to a computer to get his modem replaced because, and they told him that it was a very bad software to load on a computer. It crashes hard drives all the time. GOBack is made by Norton which is a reputable company and I have never heard such a thing. Do you guys agree with that statement?

Thank youvery much!!!

Good and Bad

by jkaras In reply to GOBack Survey

I used to work for Gateway tech support when I got my start. Goback was originally a Gateway product designed for their machines. Later it was packaged as software to anyone who desires that sort of fix all. This program was great for phone techies when dealing with people of limited knowledge of computers. Most of the time the program worked flawlessly BUT, when it got corrupted it was next to impossible to wipe the drive unless you wrote zeros to it. It would always tease you with almost getting into safe mode to get whatever you wanted before the dreaded FFR. The concept of the the software is great but when it fails you are more screwed than a 2 dollar ***** on buy 1 get one free night.
