Gods of all, what have I become??

By CharlieSpencer ·
I'm happily working away at a Windows command prompt, changing from one directory to another, wanting to see the contents of the one I'm in, and to my utter horror, I typed:

ls -l

... if it weren't for the fact that your affliction has been self induced.

You have no one to blame but yourself.
You ignored the warnings and instead chose to delve into the penguin's world foolhardily expecting to return unscathed.

But don't give up. The effects are not yet fully irreversable. If you stringently follow these steps, you may yet be saved.

First, Deny All Things Penguin! Move to a Windows Only machine or uninstall the L infection from the one you are using.

Second, Immerse Yourself in the Joy of Windows! Start off slowly with a copy of Windows 3.1 or 95 (Windows 98 can be substituted with caution but avoid moving too quickly). Next Install several programs, play a few games and perform several MS Updates. When you feel the normalcy beginning to return, skip ME and proceed to XP repeating the process. Do NOT, at least at this point, go anywhere near a Vista equipped machine. You are not ready.
When you have successfully repaired the Registry at least three times and removed several viral infections, you should start to feel the effects of the penguin plague's infection leaving your body. Test your progress by opening to a command prompt and typing in ipconfig or attempt to del, move, or ren a file. After connecting a few peripherals and establishing a network or VPN connection, you will ultimately be cleansed and once again be part of the 'Minions of Microsoft.' Be proud knowing that many were not strong enough to overcome it on their own.

Third, Stay Clean. Find new friends that are not under the influence of the 'black & white one.' Distance yourself from those locales penguins frequent (coffee shops, libraries, computer labs, etc.). Remember and accept that you will always be vulnerable to re-infection. Believe in yourself and take each day one at a time.

Good Luck!

Remember... I'm there for ya.
...and it could be worse. I hear there's no cure or treatment for that MAC thing!

somewhat, but fortunately for you... much simpler.

The 3 steps should suffice.

I have confidence in you.
I believe you can beat it!

But then again... perhaps I have it all wrong... maybe you're content with your new burden.

In that case... learn to fly!
