going online to often

I have XP Home on 2 PC’s networked. When I’m online they both work fine. When I go offline the Host decides all by itself it’s time to dial up and go back online. It does this every 5-20 seconds. If I turn off the client Pc the Host doesn’t do that so it’s only when both of them are turned on.
I’ve received a couple of replies from people at other websites saying :make sure both PC’s have the “Never dial a connection button highlited”. I do have it highlited in both Pc’s and the same problems are happening.
What changes can I do to stop the Host from redialing over and over every time I go offline?
