Going Wireless on a network

By kashmeir63 ·

I'm venturing in to wireless and do need some help. I have a windows network. All my servers are windows 2000's except I still have a windows nt4.0 as my pdc. I would like for my salesman to go wireless w/there laptops in the building. I believe I would need a wireless card for the laptop an access point. And fuzzy on this one but a wireless adapter card for the PDC?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

you can place the wireless access point on any network connection. the wireless adapter cards will go in the laptops, see? your servers should remain untouched...check out how to set this up on website. set up one laptop with a wireless nic and the access point and once you get it working rove around and test each espected workstation for signal strength. you can't always go around corners and thru walls like you'd expect. testing is the only way to know what you will get.

Potential Phone Problem. If you have any cordless phones in your building make sure that the frequency does not match the frequency of your wireless network equiptment. 2.4 GHz Phones and 2.4 GHz wireless lan equiptment will have conflicts and not work properly. Either downgrade phones to 900 MHz or upgrade Wireless to 5 GHz
