Good Rackmountable Keyboard tray?

by goku2 . Updated 17 years, 11 months ago

I just bought a lot of rackmountable equipment off ebay (specifically some shelves from chatsworth which I’m now considering worthless and some keyboard trays) and I realized that It’s really hard to find a good keyboard tray. The keyboard trays I got at first I thought were good because they were the first to slide out from the side to provide space for a mouse. But when I tried to see how it would fit on the rack, I then discovered that it would stick out quite a ways and in order to slide out the “mouse pad”, you have to slide out the keyboard, making the whole assembly stick out really far from the rack.

So I’m asking, what are some good rackmountable keyboard trays I can get for my rack? I want a keyboard tray that supports room for a mouse and full size keyboard. I’d prefer one that has lots of room for the mouse.

Also I wanted to know if anyone was aware of chatsworth selling what they called “universal EIA” standard of shelves that take up not 1U not 2U but 1.25U!? Yes that’s right, in order to mount their shelves (the ones I got off craigslist) I can not bolt them in the space of a unit. I have to use the Top Square Hole of one unit and the Top Square Hole of the Unit below that one!

WTF! The model number according to the guy off craigslist is 12336 or 12337 for the 18 inch shelves.
