GP problem

By cwg306 ·
I have a Windows 2000Sp4 server network with windows XP Pro SP2 workstations. Set GP for OU in active directory for screensaver password protect. Works on all except 1 XP machine. When I run gpresult I get "policy object does not exist". Did some reserach and the only thing I could find dealt with FRS. I completed the registry fix for Enable Journal Wrap Automatic Restore, but problem still exist. Does anyone have any ideas other then reimage the HDD? Thanks.

Reset GPO to default?

by robo_dev In reply to GP problem

GPO relies heavily on DNS... DNS hijack virus/malware can wreak havoc as far as the PC getting policy from the DC.

Well this is a closed off network, ie no outside connectivity, so the probability of virus or malware infection is minimal. Also DNS settings are all correct. Thanks for the reply.
