I am the administrator of our department OU. I have created several OU’s
under our department OU. I will be assigning specific GPO’s policies (login
scripts) to those OU’s. I currently have two OU’s that have PC’s under them
that I have been using for testing. Here is where I am having a problem. I
have created a simple test login script (net use command) and I have
assigned that script to one of the test OU’s. I have approx. 7 W2K PC’s
within the test OU. What is happening is only one PC (W2K server) will run the login
script. I am logging into the PC’s with my credentials. I have confirmed
that all network settings are correct and are the same as the PC that runs
the script. I have moved the PC’s to other OU’s and applied the login script
to that OU. I have enabled the “Loopback” policy. I have deleted the PC’s
from the ADS domain and rejoined. I have confirmed the security on the GPO
is allowing my user to run the script (which should be correct since I do
have one PC working). The PC that is working will run scripts from all the
OU’s but no other will. It acts as if the ADS domain is not registering the
PC names. What am I missing?
Note: I have noticed the PC that is running the GPO, when it starts windows, right before the desktop loads, there is a UsrLogon.cmd box that pops up in the lower left corner. That is the only noticable difference between the PC’s.
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
