    Locked

    by bolbolbalal ·

    Hello everyone!

I’m wondering if anyone has had any experience with a GPS on Windows Tablet (for example microsoft surface pro x)

Basically just looking for the windows tablet user to be able to orient themselves in the field (get latitude and longitude).

Any advice or suggestions much appreciated.

    thanks alot

GPS works then sometimes it doesn’t. Your developer would add the feature and hopefully will cache recent location so when the user is inside where there is no GPD signal the app will use the last known good location or if that’s not good enough provide and option to set the location.

I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7+ and I can use Google Maps as long as I have a usable Wi-Fi connection as I don’t have a cellular connection on my tablet. I don’t know if that might be of help. I have used my cellphone’s hotspot for data when I don’t have a useful Wi-Fi connection.

I’ve been looking for a windows tablet with GPS for GIS mapping purposes, with no luck. I don’t want these big rugged and stupidly expensive tablets.

The only one I’ve found so far thats even got a gps in it is Teclast x98 3g air, but its not being made anymore and theres no evidence of the GPS working in Windows.

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction, since googleing windows gps tablets is not giving me any positive results. Thanks.
