The box I am talking about is the one that appears after you select an item. For instance, if you select "My Computer" through a terminal session the icon will display a gray box around the icon name. Now if you click on the desktop the box still stays around the icon name.
I need to know how to make the gray dotted highlight box appear on Windows 2000 desktops. It automatically appears through terminals services but not on a normal Windows desktop.
TIA, Vince

On a 'normal' Windows 2000 desktop the icon does get highlighted and I don't see any way to turn it on or off. Check that you are current on all updates.
Yes, the icon will get highlighted. Test this through Windows Terminal Services and you will notice a gray dotted box around the highlighted icon. This is box does not occur during a normal Windows desktop, only through terminal services.
We are currently migrating from 2000 to XP so we have both in our office. This behavior only happens with Win XP. Maybe when you are connecting thru terminal services, it is to an XP box?
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
