Group Policies

By jaco ·
I would like to setup a standard group policy for windows XP. For my users to only use 1 program and be able to do nothing else. I want it in a script form so that I can just go from pc to pc and load it up. By using the group policy editor I can limit most things, but they can still delete icons and do a few other things. I want to stop them from even doing this. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Microsoft Steady State

by Joe-F In reply to Group Policies

It sounds like the best solution might be Microsoft's Steady State. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/sharedaccess/whatis/default.mspx
I haven't used it, but I have used its former incarnation, the Shared Computer Toolkit. It lets you lock down a computer and set it so any changes are reversed when the machine is restarted. It is good for libraries, schools and other places with PC subjected to tinkering. It is a free download.
