Group Policy

By dkulavil ·
I have 50 XP machines connected to Windows 2000
server. Inorder to apply the Group Policy available thru mmc do I have to go to each machine and do it, or is there an easy way to do on all machines through the server?

you can apply group policy domain wide through Active Directory on the server.

Could you please explain step by step how to do this
on all workstations through the server? I would appreciate that. Thanks for your help.

To add to DR's answer, you go into Active directory users and computers, and then you right click on the domain object, properties, group policy. You can choose to edit the default group policy or create a new one.

Now you should remember thatall the domain controllers won't be affected unless you specifically configure a policy for their OU, domain controllers.

geez, rejected again.

http://search.microsoft.com [technet]. Your looking for article Q320054 "How to manage Groups in Active Directory" just type in the Q# in the search box. If that doesn't help there are a ton of "How to" articles on the Microsoft Technet site for manageing active directory [they even have an operations guide][about a 300 page guide] on Active Directory.
