group policy foce windows classic style

hello,

is there a group policy to force theme: windows classic theme on xp pro client pcs?

i have looked through the group policy but i couldnt find it.

i know it is in the local client xp policy, gpedit.msc, but i dont want to have to run to every pc, i want to perform this task at the domain group policy level.

I don’t know about Windows 2000 server but you can achieve this on W2k3 server.

In W2K3 GP – User Configuration – Adminstrative Templates – StartMenu & Taskbar – Force classic StartMenu.

hi, yes i have heard this, but unfortunately i will be with my w2k domain controller for some time to come. so i am looking for a solution for win2k server. i was thinking that their might be a .adm file that would update my group olicy options?

i thought that this article would update my domain group policy with the additional settings my xp clients

but it didnt? anyone got any ideas at all? is this article supposed to update the domain group policy??

In W2k in the GPO go to: User configuration/windows component/windows explorer
and set enable classic shell.
