Group Policy Object Security Issues In Citrix

By sikirub ·
I am trying to investigate any security issues in enabling all the menu items in Accessories in start menu. Also whether to disable the document menu.

I am also confused about the security for the display properties.

Is there any security concern for the Help and Support Menu?

Is it also okay to enable the Run and Search Menu?.

We are moving to Citrix and I've been asked to investgate if there is any security issue about the aboved.

I need help here and thank you guys.

don't you try?

use a gpo and configure the appropriate rules especially in user configuration, administrative tempalate, start menu & taskbar then also configure desktop, there are many settings to disable some programs menu, documents, run, help, search. You move citrix users to a new OU then apply this gpo to the new OU, so this GPO is not applied to another users except citrix users, and also give citrix users only windows users or guest permissions

GPOs not a complete solution

by Jemini In reply to Group Policy Object Secur ...

I have not seen anyone be able to provide a complete solution with GPOs and they can take a lot of time and testing to get them to work correctly. Terminal server environments need to be handled special care, if a user is able to do too much, they can bring down many people at the same time not just themselves. We use a product called PowerFuse to manage our environment. I am able to manage the environment at the fraction of the time or effort without any logon scripts(YEAH!). You should take a look at it.
