I have a policy in IE7 to use our proxy and also not let the user change the settings. The only way to get this to apply to my XP SP2 machine is to restart. I have tried gpupdate, gpupdate /force and gpupdate /sync. Nothing seems to work. Is the only way to get this policy to work is to restart? My GP is in the “User Configuration” not the “Computer Configuration”. Is there something I have to but in the windows firewall for this to work? I am using the Group Policy Editor.
