Group Policy Software Install

By jamey123 ·
I have recently setup a GPO to install an MSI. I was wondering if there is any sort of server-side check beforehand to see if the software is already installed on the client or does it install the software EVERY TIME?

You can set the policy to install at the next logon. This will run once only.

Group Policy Software Install

by metageek In reply to Group Policy Software Ins ...

I have the same issue and question.
I set up an .msi GPO assigned to computers in my domain/OU. The software is deploying!
Except its deploying every time the users log in. So why does it re install itself every log in?
Shouldn't it install once and be done with it???????
Any tips, tricks and or advice is greatly appreciated.
