Grouping computers on domain like wrkgrp

By elmer.rivera ·
I have setup a Active Directory for my computers. Prior to that its been working on a workgroup. Eg. Sales, Finance, HR, etc.

Now that I have my active directory, i tried to join my clients on the domain, but i have a little problem, they belong to one workgroup now (the netbios name of my domain).

Is there a way to group them like workgroupings before?

thank you

Hi

You can create OU's or Organisational Units and name them Sales, Finance etc. Then drop the computers into the relevant OU.

Good luck

Not in My Network Places, no. You can use Description fields of the computers to see where or who the PCs belong to.

You can also use different Organisation Units in Active Dir to group PCs and apply different GPOs and scripts etc.
