    GroupWise 5.5/Document Management

    Locked

    by rasz1 ·

After reavaluating our document management system, we have a number of departments that we would like to remove from the document management system in Novell GroupWise 5.5 and store their documents on their home/shared directories. Is there a method/product of taking documents out of a GroupWise system. So far what I have found does not look promising. It looks like I have to remove each document indivdually from each users account which will be VERY time consuming. Thanks

There is a groupwise utility on the novell web site that allows you to save mass documents from a library, but the documents are saved using the document number which in my case did not help me. We ended up doing individuals at a time. Using the 5.5.2 Groupwise client, you could do a save as, keeping the name of the doc in tack and saved it to a shared drive. That was the only way to do it.

If you are still tackling this problem, perhaps you should consider calling your local super-hero

Could use groupwise utilities to extract documents out, but was not always successful. Most where done manually.
