h/w spec for Exchange Server

By NetWill ·
I have been asked to recommend h/w spec for an Exchange server for a corporation of about 120 email users.

For those currently using Exchange, any recommendations on the h/w (CPU, dual-CPU, RAM, RAID?, NIC...etc)?

Appreciate the help!

RAM: 256 MB min. It will run real slow with 128 MB.

Disks: Mirror sets. Exchange likes Mirror sets. At least 2 drives (preferrably 3) so the Databases, log files, and Exchange Server program files are on different drives. Hardware RAID is OK for some drives, but the boot drive should be mirrored. Read up on editing Boot.ini to boot from a broken mirror set. Regardless of what drives yuo choose, run PerfWiz.exe after installing and configuring Exchange Server on your machine.
