You haven't really supplied much info but first port of call would to be booting into recovery console and running chkdsk using the /f switch. More often than not this can fix booting issues.

if xp and you have file system corrpution try booting from xp disk and choosing 'repair using recovery console' then type chkdsk /r at the recovery console prompt. see how to use recovery console details at
