Hard disk beyond 32 GB not recognised

Hi,
Recently I have purchased 80 GB HDD and partitioned 20,20 and 4GB in windows NT 4.0. After commiting the changes and restart it is not displaying rest of the un partitioned space. i tried deleting all the partitions , now it is showing only 32 GB. it is not recognising rest of the space.
CAn anybody help me ??

That's because your are running Win NT, try win2000 and xp. It will recognized all. Also win98 suffer that bug.

I am assuming that the BIOS on your motherboard properly identifies the drive.
If not, I recommend starting out with a new drive controller card. ($30)

Options:

Partition Magic

A drive overlay program from the drive mfg. If you purchased aretail boxed drive, this may be on a diskette that came with the drive.
If not, or if you bought a bulk pack drive, check out the drive mfg web site.

Also, check out the links at www.fdisk.com/fdisk

There are many "work-arounds" and 3rd partyversions of fdisk.

I tried with partition magic but it did not. Again I connect it as primary slave after some time it was showing 80 GB !!!.

FAT32 has a limit (as I remember) of 32GB.
Upgrade to NTFS formatting to use the large disk.
