Hard disk click

By galvrez5611 ·
Hi everyone. I hope someone could give me some information about it: my PC crashes during the bios recognizing process and there is a repetitive click in the HDD when i boot, it seem that the bios tries to identify the hard disk but fails in the process. It happened twice this week without an aparent reason and the next day it booted normally. Why is the Hard disk clicking?, is it time for a new one?, could it be a BIOS problem?
Thanks for your help.

My recommedation would be to
Backup all your data NOW,
Identify the Type of drive your using e.g segate and aquired the Manufacture Hard-disk Utility and diagnose the drive. If the Drive reports a problem I would backup your system (Document, settings drivers etc..) and replace the drive. Check and see if the warranty is still vaild if so you can replace it under warrenty.

Clicking is a sign the drive is on its last leg. Get your important stuff off ASAP. Check on your warrenty for replacement.

Good luck
