Hard Disk full capacity not detected

by mahakaal1 . Updated 16 years, 9 months ago

My new seagate sata 500gb HDD is detected with full capacity in BIOS(Phoenix Award).

But when I boot from another IDE HDD(into Win 2000 with FAT32) and try to partition the SATA drive it shows drive capacity as only 128GB.

Why is it? And how to get the full drive capacity.

I have Gigabyte G31M-S2L board.
